Apleona HQ has been awarded a “BREEAM Excellent” Certification
The Apleona headquarters at An der Gehespitz 50 near Frankfurt received an “Excellent” rating under the BREEAM sustainability certification. The technical operations provided by Apleona and Recogizer were a key factor
A BREEAM rating indicates how well a building performs in the areas of energy efficiency, resource consumption, building management, user comfort, and environmental quality. The “Excellent” rating is the second-highest level in the BREEAM rating system and is particularly rare for existing buildings. In Germany, only eight percent of all BREEAM-certified properties are rated “Excellent.”
The “Excellent” rating for the Apleona headquarters thus reflects very strong performance across all sustainability measures implemented. The corresponding certificate was officially presented in mid-May at the site in Neu-Isenburg by TÜV SÜD to Aroundtown, one of Europe's largest real estate companies and a client of Apleona. Present at the ceremony were Daniel Hädrich (TÜV SÜD), Markus Brehm, Marlene Balonier, and Rosen Hristov (all from Aroundtown), as well as Dr. Jochen Keysberg (CEO, Apleona). They can be seen in the photo above from left to right.
In its public statements, Aroundtown made it clear that the “systematic property management” provided by Apleona as the responsible facility manager was “central to achieving a high level of certification.” Thanks to continuously optimized technical operations and, not least, the use of AI-supported control of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) by Apleona subsidiary Recogizer, the building’s electricity and heat consumption has been significantly reduced. Apleona CEO Dr. Jochen Keysberg, together with the client, expressed his delight at the success achieved jointly during the certificate presentation: “We are proud to have contributed to this outstanding result both as a tenant and as a service provider.” The award demonstrates the sustainability potential inherent in the building stock.
