At Apleona, we are committed to protecting human rights and ensuring fair conditions in the supply and value chain. This is supported by robust due diligence processes and a comprehensive risk management system. These are designed to comply with the German Supply Chain Duty of Care Act and ensure compliance throughout the supply chain.Key elements of these obligations include the development, establishment and implementation of a risk management system to identify, avoid or minimize risks of human rights abuses and environmental damage. Other key requirements of the Duty of Care include:
- Establishment of a risk management system
- Assigning internal responsibility for the protection of human rights (Section 4 para. 3 LkSG)
- Carrying out regular risk analyses (§ 5 LkSG)
- Issuance of a policy statement (§ 6 LkSG)
- Definition of preventive measures within the company and with direct suppliers (§ 6 LkSG)
- Take corrective action in case of violation of a protected legal position (§ 7 LkSG)
- Establishment of a complaints procedure for reporting human rights violations (Section 8 LkSG)
- Fulfillment of due diligence obligations with regard to risks at indirect suppliers (Section 9 LkSG)
- Provision of documentation and reporting (Section 10 LkSG)
The implementation of a unified approach and a scalable platform for the entire Apleona Group in 2023 not only ensures Apleona's compliance, but also positions the company favorably for the upcoming European Union directive on corporate due diligence in the area of sustainability.

These documents reflect our requirements for good corporate governance and minimum social and environmental standards. The documents must be signed by the respective suppliers before entering into a business relationship with Apleona.
Sustainability Status Report 2023
Apleona published its Sustainability Report for the business year 2023 on October 11, 2024.
The report provides information on current developments, implemented measures and goals along the four pillars of sustainability: economic, social, environmental and governance. The report provides a comprehensive insight into Apleona's sustainability strategy and is aimed at all relevant stakeholders: Clients, investors, financial market participants and our employees.
In recognition of the international nature of our customers and our organization, the 2023 Sustainability Report is published exclusively in English.
